Stage III Water Restrictions Update

Stage Three in Effect Date: 08/03/18 Stage III Restrictions On 07/19/18 AFPMWC's Corral Well suffered a mechanical breakdown underground in which the column pipe, which supports the pump/motor, broke apart. This sent 260 feet of column pipe to the bottom of the 600 foot well casing. AFPMWC currently has four (4) wells which operate to provide water in Tract 3423 for domestic use and Fire Protection. The current production from these wells is 160 gallons per minute (gpm). The loss of the Corral well represents approximately 40% of the current production. This factor, in addition to run time restrictions of two (2) of the other wells, is the reason for the implementation and notification of Stage III water restrictions. Due to the column pipe being broken down the well casing, the column pipe will have to be "fished" out of the casing before the column pipe can be replaced. A well video service company performed an initial inspection of the well and discovered that the electrical cable that powers the pump/motor assembly has fallen down the casing and is laying tangled up above the pump/motor assembly. AFPMWC is currently working with a well/pump service company to have the "fishing" and repair work completed and the well up and running as soon as possible.
